Cody Simpson PETA Campaign “Make Your Animals’ Life Paradise”

Cody Simpson hits the road this summer, touring in support of his new album Preview to Paradise, he’ll be missing his Maltese, Buddy.

“It’s like having another member of your family,” he says of his beloved pet in a new video for PETA, part of a campaign to encourage proper care of pets.

“Never leave your dog in a hot car,” he says. “[And] if you ever see animal abuse, please never be silent.”

Calling his own canine companion the inspiration behind his foray into animal activism, Cody goes on to ask his fans, and animal lovers everywhere, to stand up for defenseless creatures who may be in need.

“It’s a sad thing to see sometimes when people don’t treat their pets right,” Simpson says.

Cody Simpson on Finding Cody Movie

Cody Simpson will star in a new film titled Finding Cody. The scripted, choose-your-own-adventure movie is set for release this June.

Currently in production in Los Angeles, Finding Cody is truly unprecedented – the first YouTube choose-your-own-adventure-style film starring a major musical artist. The film will feature multiple annotations allowing viewers to click and choose innumerable paths to reach the exciting conclusion, a surprise that will be every fan’s dream come true.

Directed by filmmaker Michael Canzoneiero, from a script he co-wrote with Marco Ricci, Finding Cody stars Gatlin Green and Lia Marie Johnson, herself a genuine YouTube sensation with over 11 million individual video views. The film follows self-proclaimed “biggest Cody Simpson fan in the world” Lucy in her quest to see her idol performing live in concert. Though faced by an array of obstacles – the show is sold out and she’s just been grounded by her mom – with the viewer’s choices guiding their way, Lucy and her best friend Lily might well make their dreams come true. Oooh! Sounds like fun.
